At the just-concluded 24th China International Foundry Exposition in Shanghai, Shanghai Zhuyou Zirconium Titanium New Material Co., Ltd. hosted both new and longstanding customers in the "Foundry Raw and Auxiliary Materials" exhibition area and showcased the company's new products: calcined zircon sand and calcined zircon powder, which garnered significant attention from the company's customers.







With the development of high-end manufacturing industries such as national aerospace and energy equipment, the demand and production of high-temperature precision castings have been increasing year by year. Calcined precision casting sand/powder is an essential raw and auxiliary material for high-temperature high-end precision castings.
Shanghai Zhuyou's newly developed calcined zircon sand/powder is produced by grinding and calcining natural high-grade zircon sand concentrate imported from Australia. Through prolonged calcination and heat retention at high temperatures, the ZrSiO4 crystal structure is made complete, eliminating some inherent defects, resulting in denser particles with a relatively smoother surface. The ablation of low-melting-point alkaline oxides and organics at high temperatures enhances the physical and chemical stability of the product, improving its refractoriness and achieving an extremely low thermal expansion coefficient. The rounded zircon sand particles after calcination enhance the permeability of coatings, reduce the incidence of sand adhesion defects, and improve the surface finish of investment casting parts. The company's high-end calcined zircon sand products meet the technical requirements for zircon sand used in precision casting within the Aero-Engine system. Compared to ordinary zircon powder, calcined powder boasts advantages such as extremely low impurities, greater stability at high temperatures, superior refractoriness, and an extremely low thermal expansion coefficient. Coatings made from calcined powder exhibit optimal suspension, fluidity, application, and breathability. This ensures that on complex thin-walled blades and other demanding castings, the surface shell made from calcined powder achieves ultimate uniformity, compactness, and stability, safeguarding the dimensional accuracy and surface integrity of the castings. The company's high-end calcined zircon sand products meet the technical requirements for zircon sand used in precision casting within the Aero-Engine.
